A 300 year old Farmhouse
VILLA ROSA is a 300 year-old farmhouse which has been fully restored and looks out over farmland to the village of Solomeo, with Perugia and Assisi in the distance.Villa Rosa is a short walk from the tiny village of Montemelino which boasts an excellent restaurant. We are about 15 kilometres from Perugia and only 5 kilometres from the motorway that connects Florence and Rome (we are about halfway between these cities). This superstrada can neither be seen nor heard from the property, but its vicinity makes VILLA ROSA a perfect base for touring Umbria and Tuscany.
Meet the Rialtis
Megan
I am Australian, born in Hobart and grew up in Sydney but have lived in Italy most of my adult life.
I came here as a student to learn Italian - little did I know how useful it would turn out to be! I enjoy giving our guests tips on all my favourite things - great restaurants, bargain shopping and sightseeing.
Lino
Born and raised in Perugia, I know the area like the back of my hand.
Among my many interests are good wine, truffle and mushroom hunting and Italian politics. I look forward to discussing these - and other topics - with Villa Rosa guests. Over a glass of red, of course!
Isabella
I am the newest member of the Rialti family.
Although I'm Italian born and bred, I like to speak English and play with other kids who are growing up with "Hairy McClary" and "The Gruffalo". See you in the pool!
Ugo
I'm the family dachshund, Isabella's playmate and head of public relations at Villa Rosa.
I also am bilingual - I disobey in both languages! I love visiting guests - especially when they are barbequing. Though I'm under strict doctor's orders not to accept scraps!
